If you want to add real strength to your integrity and thereby to your identity, you can make the following declarations and commitments to yourself today (Download this from the DOWNLOADS PAGE, print it out  and tape it to your mirror):

My Commitments:

As of today I am taking full responsibility for the quality of my life.

As of today I am setting my life in order by maintaining priorities and pursuing high integrity.

As of today I am eliminating anything illegal, unethical and immoral from my life.

As of today I am eliminating all lies (white or otherwise) from my life.

As of today I am eliminating all negative speech and thoughts from my life.

As of today I am making a positive comment to each person I talk.

As of today I am declaring that tomorrow will be a great day – every day.

As of this week I am compiling a written list of dreams and goals for my life.

As of this week I am reading and learning more about relating positively to people (including myself).

If married:

As of today I am giving more attention to my spouse than to other people.

As of today I am doing small things that make my spouse happy without expecting any returns.

As of today I am spending at least 15 minutes alone with one of my children – every day.

This is fantastic! and so very true.. It gives me something to think about.. in a positive way:)

  2. These are good points for all of us but we can even start earlier. We need to educate and instill a more positive outlook for our children. We need to teach them to be more compassionate, patient and more confident themselves. I believe then that their lives would be much better.

Valerie, you are absolutely right. I have an excerpt from my sub-chapter on empowering your children here; https://sedweb.wordpress.com/2011/02/20/excerpt-from-chapter-26-power-distribution-and-concentration/. Many other chapters contain pertinent esteem-building information and the pitfalls to avoid. There is also a detailed appendix on mentoring.
